THIRD TIME'S A CHARM

So on to the third party; this was my most fun party yet. I knew by this time that I had really learned how to relax because so many things had gone wrong. This party, I partnered with the Student National Medical Association. They were supposed to take the money at the door from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. They didn't get there till an hour later, and neither did my security. So I was coat checking, bouncer checking IDs, and taking the money all at the same time. Then, the restaurant doesn't want us to start playing music till the last dinner patron has left. If doors open at 10 p.m., why book a 9:30 reservation? I dunno, but apparently they do. At 10:30, they were telling everybody that the music wouldn't start for 45 minutes. Everybody and they momma wanted their money back. So I was customer service, too.

But it all worked out in the end. The party was fun, my DJ (2 Tone) helped me out a lot by providing extra sound at no charge, The SNMA matched the money they raised last year, and the one key that always lets me know that it's a successful party happened: the crowd started a Soul Train line.

In hindsight, I am actually kinda glad that Jamie Stachowski is the way he is. As my good friend Shanda pointed out, "if it was easy, then anybody coulda done it." Touche' Shanda, touche'.

Oh I almost forgot: After the party, Jamie and Dennis asked me to do the party once a week instead of monthly like I was scheduled. I told them I don't think I am big enough yet, but maybe later down the road. I'll have to see if this thing grows or not. So in short; the end of this is now semi out of my hands.
